Police recover truck stolen from Marion and arrest two
Fall River Police arrested the alleged thieves of a pickup truck stolen in Marion on Tuesday.
According to Marion Police, a 2008 Ford F-150 was reported stolen from a home on Briggs Lane after 11 p.m. on July 15. The theft coincided with a rash of car break-ins on South Street and Inland Road on July 11 and July 15.
A joint investigation of the Marion, Fall River, Mattapoisett and Plymouth Police Departments led to the arrests of Fall River residents Marcus Hierrezuelo, 21, and Ronnie Sulyma, 31.
Police said one of the suspects was videotaped at a Fall River convenience store using a credit card taken from one of the vehicles. Information gathered by Plymouth police led Marion and Fall River police to obtain warrants for the suspects.
During the investigation, Marion Detective Scott Smith and Officer Anthony DiCarlo recovered another motor vehicle reported stolen out of Mattapoisett.
Police said the suspects allegedly stole five vehicles from Marion, Mattapoisett, Sandwich, Scituate, R.I. and Tiverton, R.I. Four vehicles were found in Fall River and the fifth was recovered in Plymouth.
The Mattapoisett Police Department is still conducting an investigation.
Police remind residents to avoid leaving valuables and keys in cars and to lock car doors. Also, police ask residents to immediately report any suspicious activity to their local department.
