Since Selectmen put out the word that they’re not going to put up with dog droppings, there has been an improvement, said Town Administrator Mike Gagne.

“I see an awful lot of people now carrying their bags with their dogs when they’re walking them,” said Gagne. “I’d like to thank people for taking the responsibility.”

Gagne said Animal Control Officer Kathy Massey has spoken with people to inform them of the increased enforcement.

The town is also putting in six additional dog stations where people can get bags to pick up poop.

An article in the Special Town Meeting in November will also address issues related to enforcing dog-related infractions.
