Possible carbon monoxide poisoning sends three to hospital
The Marion Police Department and Marion Fire/EMS responded to a Cranberry Way residence for a possible carbon monoxide incident early on Tuesday morning.
According to the police report, officers arrived at 2:01 a.m. and located three victims near the entrance of the home.
The ages of the victims ranged between 35 and 70.
All three were exhibiting signs of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the police report.
Officers and Fire/EMS personnel treated the victims. All three people were transported by ambulance to Tobey Hospital in Wareham.
Fire personnel found very high readings of carbon monoxide levels in the house, according to the police report.
It appears that a generator exhaust was placed too close to a window opening, according to Fire Department Chief Thomas Joyce.
Assistance was provided by the Mattapoisett Police/EMS, Wareham EMS, and Rochester Police Department.
