Proposed wireless tower heads to Zoning Board
The Mattapoisett Planning Board granted a request by Industrial Tower and Wireless for an indefinite continuance on their hearing for a proposed cell phone tower on Monday, October 1.
Town Counsel Jonathan Silverstein recently deemed that the project should first go before the Zoning Board of Appeals for approval, as it is located outside the approved corridor for cellular towers. Depending on the Zoning Board's ruling, however, Industrial Wireless may need to return to the Planning Board in the future.
“We hope to go to the Zoning Board this month,” said Kevin Delaney, a representative of Industrial Wireless.
The company already conducted two tests to show the visibility of the tower, which has been proposed for a property at the end of Jane Lane. On September 17, the Planning Board approved a driveway for the parcel of land owned by Dennis Mahoney and Sons.
