As many readers observed, SippicanWeekToday.com was offline for much of last weekend.

Alas, it is a big, interconnected world  and some things are out of our small company’s control.

Early Saturday afternoon, the large cloud-computing service that hosts our websites experienced a “critical storage failure,” prompting an outage longer than anything previously experienced with this web host. Left in the dark were SippicanWeekToday.com, sister sites WarehamWeekToday.com and DartmouthWeekToday.com and dozens of sites from larger companies, organizations and government agencies.

Round-the-clock work at the cloud-computing service had things up and running by Sunday evening. Fast work by Sippican Week staff had coverage of most of the weekend events up on the site by Monday morning. Read on!
