Quiet night in Marion for plow crews
Jan 3, 2014
With many people staying inside last night, Police Chief Lincoln Miller said Marion DPW crews had no trouble clearing town roads.
The first major snowstorm of the year brought high winds, nearly a foot of snow in places and warnings from state officials, but little trouble for Marion motorists.
“Last night was very quiet. Most people stayed off the roads,” Miller said. “There was very little traffic and a few very minor accidents.”
DPW crews worked through the night to clear roads. The only trouble was the wind.
“It was difficult because the wind would blow the snow back onto the roads half an hour after the plows came through,” Miller said.
By morning the snow had died down and Miller said the roads were cleared.
