Race to Bermuda leaves from Marion

The 40th Marion Bermuda Race set sail from Sippican Harbor on Friday afternoon.
Fifty sailboats are participating in this year’s race, including 11 local sailors. Shawn Dahlen, Wes McMichael, Tom Bowler, Ray Cullen, Ron Wisner, Tom Denney, Barry Feldman, David DePree and Barrett Levenson are all participating from Marion, and Bob Warren and George Tougas will represent Mattapoisett.
Participants will also get to witness the celebration of the 35th America’s Cup, which will be happening in Bermuda about the time sailors will be arriving.
