Reading groups among events at Plumb Library

Jan 4, 2022

ROCHESTER _ Plumb Memorial Library, 17 Constitution Way, is sponsoring a series of events throughout January.

Each Monday, children can visit the library to find a snowperson hiding in the library. The snowperson will stay in this spot until Saturday and then will roll to a new spot where it can be found starting Monday for the next week.

Anyone who finds the snowperson should quietly tell the librarian to win a small prize.

A new scrambled word, also known as the password, will be available to unscramble each week starting on Monday,

Ask for the scrambled word at the circulation desk.  Anyone who is able to unscramble the word should quietly share the answer with a librarian. Correct answers win small prizes.

Book Buds Teen is a book club for readers in grades 6 and above that usually meets at 4 p.m. the first Friday of the month.

Anyone who wants to attend is asked to register because meetings will be cancelled if there are not at least three registrants. Masks are required for the January meeting.

Group members will meet to share personal recommendations of a book (or books) they are reading or have recently read.

The group will meet outside at the library (weather permitting) or at the First Congregational Church Hall.

A snack will be provided but attendees are asked to bring their own drinks.

The Plumb Library Book Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 on Zoom  The group will be discussing "A Woman of No Importance" by Sonia Purnell.
