The Mattapoisett Historical Society will conduct its annual meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, at the museum, 5 Church St.

After tending to business, Seth Mendell, president emeritus of Mattapoisett Historical Society, will give a short talk about the building of the bark "Wanderer," the last whaling ship to be built in Mattapoisett.

Following the talk, attendees are invited to a reception for the opening of Mattapoisett Museum's newly installed "Mendell Maritime Gallery." Mendell  will be available to sign copies of the museum's newest publication, "Voyages of the Wanderer."
