Register for fall classes at the Marion Art Center

MARION — The Marion Art Center will offer piano, painting, and dance classes for the fall season.

Instructor Frances Belcher offers piano lessons for beginner, and intermediate level players ages six through adult. Half hour lessons will include instruction on music theory, improvisation, and preparation and opportunities to perform.  Parents are welcome to stay and watch their children’s lessons. Eight weeks of lessons cost $280 for Marion Art Center members, and $295 for non-members. Schedules will  be arranged by the student and instructor, and can be arranged for after school.

Instructor Patricia White will return to the Marion Art Center to teach the “Beginning and Continuing Watercolor Painting for Adults” class, starting on Thursday, Sept. 19. The eight week course will take place from 10 a.m. to noon each Thursday. After a brief introduction each class, students will work on landscape, still life, figurative, and/or imaginative pieces while exploring different techniques. This program will cost $195 for members, and $220 for non-members.

The Marion Art Center Dance Academy will start on Monday, Sept. 9. Classes will be every Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for ten weeks. This program is for children ages one through eight, and will cost $160 for members, and $185 for non-members
