Junior high basketball

Mattapoisett Recreation is accepting registrations for the junior high basketball season.

The registration deadline is Oct. 31, and the boys league placement night is Nov. 5. Practices start in November and games begin mid-December and end with playoffs in March.

Games will be Thursday nights at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School. Practices will be on Monday or Tuesday evenings. Open gym will be on Saturdays at ORR High School from 12 to 1 p.m.

The cost is $90 per player for the boys league.

Girls junior high basketball will be Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The 90-minute clinics will combine skills and drills with game play. Session runs from Jan. 5 to March 1. The cost is $50 per player.

Registration is open to all junior high students. Flyers will be sent home with students.

Co-ed basketball for early elementary

Registration is also open for co-ed kindergarten and first grade basketball and co-ed second grade basketball programs.

The kindergarten and first grade sessions will be Mondays from 3 to 3:45 p.m. or Wednesdays from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The sessions run from Jan. 4 to March 7. The cost is $50 per player. The registration deadline is Dec. 18.

Second grade basketball will have a sign up and open gym night on Oct. 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Center School gym. Placement night Tuesday, Nov. 3. Practices and games are Wednesdays starting in January. Open gym time is Saturdays 9 to 10 a.m. The cost is $50 per player. The registration deadline is Oct. 31.

Flyers will be sent home from schools. This program is open to Mattapoisett and Rochester residents.
