Relay for Life to cover the town in purple
The Tri-Town Relay for Life will be painting the town purple in June (figuratively speaking) to gather support for the 10th annual event to benefit the American Cancer Society’s work.
Margaret DeMello, a member of the local Relay for Life group, received approval from Selectman Tyler Macallister on Tuesday to decorate town buildings, landmarks and signs with purple bows from May 23 to June 14. Townspeople are also encouraged to decorate their doors, yards, porches and more with purple. Bows will be available at Town Hall for anyone who wants to be a part of the campaign.
The Relay for Life is scheduled for June 13 at Old Rochester Regional High School.
“I have absolutely no problem with this,” said Tyler Macallister. “I look forward to seeing a lot of purple around town for the next six weeks.”
