Pending approval from the Conservation Commission, a horseshoe pit will be installed at Town Landing off of Mattapoisett Neck Road.

The town received a citizen’s petition to install two pits in the area.

Town Administrator Mike Gagne said the location should be discussed with the highway surveyor and harbormaster so as not to conflict with new canoe racks that may be installed soon. He recommended installing one of the pits and installing the other one later if there are no issues.

Selectman Tyler Macallister agreed, suggested two permits be given to the residents pending approval of the Conservation Commission as the pits would be in a wetlands area.
