RMS fourth grade C.A.R.E.S.
Rochester Memorial School fourth graders put on “A Celebration of Positive Character” on Thursday, based on the school's five values: cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy and self-control, summed up with the acronym C.A.R.E.S.
The program's message was one of making good choices and standing up for what's right.
“I build my character. I am the architect,” the kids sang in the opening song.
The fourth grade students performed for students and staff in the afternoon and had another performance for parents in the evening. Throughout the program, the students demonstrated each of the school's values through word, song, dance and the occasional dab.
At the show's close, the kids summed up the theme like this: “The choice comes from the inside out, and I know it starts with me.”
