Rochester Council on Aging announces September events

The Rochester Council on Aging has annouced several events for the month of September including several day trips.

On Saturday, Sept. 8 there will be day trip to the Octoberfest Celebration in Walpole, MA. Admission is $10.00. The bus will leave the Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. and will return around 5 p.m.

There is another day trip on Monday Sept. 10 to Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market, in Boston, MA. The bus will leave the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m. and will return around 5 p.m.

The last day trip will be on Sunday, Sept. 16 to Plymouth for Pilgrim Belle Cruise with lunch nearby. The bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. and will leave the cruise area at 3:00 p.m. The cost is $17 plus lunch.

To secure a spot in the van on any of these trips, a $5 donation is requested.

Friday’s movie on Sept. 7 will be The Greatest Showman, a PG Musical and Historic Drama starring Hugh Jackman. The show starts at 1:30 p.m.

Volunteer and former French teacher, Connie Pierce will resumes her French Conversational classes this month on Friday mornings, beginning on Sept. 14th from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. The Class offers an informal approach to French social conversation for beginners and no sign-up is necessary.

Pampered Chef Linda Medeiros returns on Monday, Sept. 10 at 11:30 a.m. for a cooking demonstration. Stay for lunch at 12 p.m. and sample the results. A suggested donation of $4.00 is appreciated for the meal. Call 508-763-8723 to RSVP.

The Quarterly Birthday Party for those who have or who have had a birthday during the months of July, August, & September, is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 24 at 12 p.m.

Anyone is welcome to attend. Birthday invites have been mailed to those who are celebrating. Call 508-763-8723 to RSVP. A suggested donation of $4.00 per person for the meal is appreciated. Birthday attendees receive a complimentary lunch Entertainment will also be provided.
