Rochester Historical Society to hold monthly meeting, open exhibit

The Rochester Historical Society started off the month of October at the Rochester Country Fair where it sold maps, sweaters and cookies. 

The Rochester Historical Society’s next meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Rochester Historical Society Museum at 355 County Road. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

At this month’s meeting, Howie Smith will tell the story of Josiah Smith who was a member of George Washington's Honor Guard. The talk will be followed by refreshments and conversation.
 
Meetings of the Rochester Historical Society are held on the third Wednesday of the month. 
 
On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Rochester Historical Society will open its new exhibit: “Maps, Signs and Celebrations.”  The historical society will also hold a Cranberry Bakesale. It will be selling fresh cranberries and Rochester merchandise. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
