Rochester Historical Society open house
The Rochester Historical Society will hold an open house on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the East Rochester Church/Museum, 355 County Road.
A new display features a tour of Rochester’s historic places. Society members will hold a cranberry bake sale and a cookbook sale. The gift shop will be open as well. Sales will help fund the replacement of the old oil tank.
A recent Rochester Cultural Council grant has funded a booklet entitled “A Self-Guided Tour of Some of Rochester’s Historic Places” which will be available starting Oct. 1.
Those who want to do the tour on Oct. 1 may pick up a free booklet at the North Rochester Congregational Church at 247 North Ave., where the tour starts, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tour ends at the East Rochester Church/Museum open house.
