Rochester Police investigating attempted daytime break-in
Rochester police are seeking the identity of a man who attempted to break into a Dr. Braley Road home on Jan. 6.
Officers responded to the home located near Braley Hill at approximately 1:51 p.m. after they received a call regarding a suspicious man attempting to enter the house.
Police said the suspect was described as a white man with a grey beard in his late 40s who wore a tan Carhartt jacket, black jeans and tan work boots.
A K-9 unit from the Plymouth County Sheriff's office and officers from the Massachusetts State Police and Environmental Police were called to track the suspect.
Police searched the area woods, yards and neighborhoods for over two hours, but were unable to locate him after following a track from the home to Braley Hill Road near Featherbed Lane.
Freetown and Acushnet Police assisted Rochester officers at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Officers Sean Crook, Robert Nordahl and Detective Donald Kemmett of the Rochester Police.
