Rochester Senior center change policy for events, lunches
ROCHESTER — The Rochester Senior Board of Directors has changed its payment policy for luncheons and events.
Going forward, all special lunches require sign up in advance and a donation of $5. Donations will be refunded if interested participants have to cancel in advance. The next Special Luncheon, Hanna’s Special Luncheon will, be held at noon on April 22. The Senior Center will also require a $5, non-refundable donation for day trips when participants sign up for the trip to secure a spot on the van.
The Rochester Senior Center will host a Good Friday Supper on April 19 at 5:30 p.m. The menu includes baked haddock, clam chowder, baked potatoes, green beans and confetti cake. The cost is $10 per person, and interested participants must sign up by April 17.
Rochester’s Senior Book Club will meet at the Senior Center on Tuesday, April 16 at 10:15 a.m. to discuss “The Muralist” with the Joseph H. Plumb library director.
Conversational French is canceled for April due to scheduling conflicts. The group will resume in May.
Grocery shopping trips will resume now that the weather has improved. Call the Rochester Senior Center to discuss availability, and which stores to visit.
The Senior Center needs people to volunteer as breakfast cooks, dishwashers and wait staff. The Senior Center also needs help with the special lunches on Mondays and special events. Volunteers can sign up for a regular position, or as a substitute volunteer.
