Rochester Senior Center schedules meet and greet, reschedules lunches

ROCHESTER — On Sept. 30 the Rochester Senior Center will host a luncheon and special meet and greet session with its new director, Cheryl Randall-Mach. The luncheon will also serve as the quarterly birthday lunch for anyone who has birthdays in July, August or September. 

The luncheon will be prepared by Mike and Ann Cambra, with the meet and greet and refreshments afterwards. 

The Rochester Senior Center has changed the dates for a few of its other September special luncheons. The Monday, Sept. 16 special luncheon will be prepared by Outreach Worker, Lorraine Thompson. Hanna Milhench will prepare the Monday, Sept. 23 special luncheon. To attend one of the luncheons, call the Senior Center to make a reservation. Donations of $5 per luncheon are suggested.

The Veteran’s Social has been rescheduled from Thursday, Sept. 12 to Thursday, Sept. 26. The social is held from 6 to 8 p.m. and all are welcome to attend without a donation or reservation. 

Flu clinics will be held at the Senior Center on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 22nd from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Additional flu clinics will be held at Old Colony Technical High School on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Flu clinic dates are dependent upon vaccine supply availability.

The Rochester Senior Center will host a day trip on Sunday, Sept. 15th to the Harwich Arts and Music Cranberry Festival. Admission to the festival is free, and seniors will eat lunch there or nearby. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m.

On Sept. 19 the Senior Center will host an outing to the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield. Senior admission is $12. The fair offers food, entertainment, vendors, the Avenue of New England States, agriculture, livestock, and crafts. The bus will leave the Senior Center at 7:30 a.m. and return at approximately 6 p.m.
