Rochester sign gets before and after

Aug 28, 2019

ROCHESTER — The directional sign between the Rochester Town Hall and Plumb library has been freshly renovated thanks to Highway Surveyor Jeff Eldridge, and Mary Tripp and Mollie MacDonald of M.a.D Signs

Eldridge said that he began working on the sign on Aug. 3 2019, which by pure coincidence marked the 200th anniversary of when the town sign was first placed.

Eldridge used a wire wheel to chip off the old paint.

He then added a fresh coat of white paint to the sign’s background.

Tripp and MacDonald were hired to fine tune the project on Aug. 19 by filling in the black lettering, making it clear and easy to read.

Tripp said that the project was truly a group effort between M.a.D. Signs and the Town of Rochester.
