Rochester Town Hall roof repaired
Renovations to the Rochester Town Hall are well underway and right on schedule.
Town Administrator Richard LaCamera said the first phase of the repairs was completed on Friday. SEMASS Construction of Wareham finished repairs to the building’s roof, which included the addition of all new shingles.
“The project is going along very well,” LaCamera said.
With the roof completed, the SEMASS Construction will move on to replacing the building’s siding and windows. LaCamera said these repairs would begin over the weekend.
LaCamera said he was confident additional repairs would be completed soon so long as the weather permits.
In October, Special Town Meeting approved $897,000 to be used for repairs of several town-owned buildings as well as for purchasing new equipment.
Before the repairs were given the green light by Special Town Meeting, LaCamera said the shingles were falling off of the roof and there had been significant leakage.
Renovations on the Town Hall began last month after the Selectmen approved SEMASS Construction’s bid of $86,000 to complete the repairs.
