Rochester without a Town Administrator, for now

Jul 1, 2014

Rochester is without a Town Administrator for the time being.

Before Monday night’s Selectmen meeting, board members held an executive session for contract negotiations with incoming Town Administrator Michael McCue. In a 2-0 vote, Selectmen hired McCue at their June 16 meeting. McCue has served as Avon’s town administrator since 2007.

Former Town Administrator Rich LaCamera is on vacation in Maine. With his absence, board members are solely in charge of town affairs until McCue’s contract is approved.

Select Chair Brad Morse said it is unlikely LaCamera will return to advise the board during a Selectmen’s meeting. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be around for the transition.

“He won’t be back in for a meeting,” Morse said. “But he will be here to help if needed.”
