The 23 annual Marion Village 5K will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 9 a.m. Race applications are available at www.racewire.com, where runners can register on-line. All proceeds from the race will benefit youth recreation programs in Marion.

The race starts and finishes on Front Street at Tabor Academy. The entry fee is $25 after the 16. Race numbers and shirts can be picked up Saturday from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Tabor’s Hoyt Hall on the waterfront or Friday  from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Marion Town House.

The race is a flat, fast 5K course. Prize money is offered to the top three men and women finishers and merchandise or gift certificates are awarded to top finishers in the race and to all runners in a post-race raffle.

Young runners in the 13 and under age group will receive certificates for free ice creams from Kool Kone.  Runners and walkers can also have drinks, fruit, bagels and pizza. After the awards ceremony, the Brew Fish will be opening its outdoor beer garden to runners and offering free pint glasses to all with race bibs.

Any businesses still interested in donating prizes should contact race director Chris Adams at cadams@taboracademy.org.
