MATTAPOISETT — Drivers traveling Route 6 in Mattapoisett might notice that Salty the Seahorse has a fresh coat of paint. 

The 34-foot sculpture was touched up by volunteers from the Mattapoisett Land Trust ahead of the annual “Salty Soiree” to be held on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dunseith Gardens where Salty is located. 

But the Mattapoisett Land Trust didn’t take on this project alone. The organization used a bucket truck lent by Village Signs and paint donated by Mahoney's Building Supply.

Salty’s soiree will feature a bonfire, smores, music and storytelling by Diane Edgecomb. This year’s event will also be held under a full moon.
