School District Facilities Manager Steve Murphy resigns
After two years with the Old Rochester Regional School District, Facilities Manager Steve Murphy has resigned, effective on March 15.
Superintendent Doug White said that Murphy left “for personal reasons,” and that he has decided to seek employment elsewhere.
Murphy assumed the position of Facilities Manager back in 2010. Since then, his efforts to cut utilities costs have seen savings for the three towns - Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester.
During the March 5 public hearing for the Old Rochester Regional Junior and Senior High Schools’ 2013 budget, White said that the schools have seen $26,420 in utilities savings.
“I think he provided us with very good guidance in facilities and maintenance,” White said. “He’s put us in a good place to provide students with good education. We wish him continued success.”
Murphy could not be reached for comment.
