MARION _ A meet and greet for Tanisha Sullivan, a Democratic candidate for secretary of state, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at the Marion Music Hall, 164 Front St. 

The event is sponsored in part by Southcoast Democratic town committees. Light refreshments will be served. 

Sullivan was born in Boston and raised in Brockton. She earned her bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Virginia, and her masters degree in business administration and juris doctorate from Boston College.

She has a history of working on social issues as a chief equity officer for Boston Public Schools and as president of the NAACP in Boston.
