MARION — Peter O’Brien’s time within the Harbormaster’s office has been short — but memorable enough to earn him a new position as Assistant Harbormaster.

Serving in the Marines for over 27 years, O’Brien retired in 2023 as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He worked part-time with the Harbormaster Department since the fall of 2024, and was brought in front of the Marion Select Board Tuesday, April 1 for appointment to his new position.

Harbormaster Adam Murphy said, “Mr. O’Brien has demonstrated the necessary skills, experience and commitment to support the Harbormaster’s office in its operation and duties.”
