Selectman Brad Morse emerges victorious in Rochester Election
Incumbent Selectman Brad Morse will serve a fourth term on the board after being re-elected in Rochester’s Town Election on Wednesday night.
The Selectmen seat was the only contested race in this year’s election. Morse was challenged by Michael Murphy, a member of the Planning Board and owner of Murphy’s Auto Salvage. Morse garnered 232 votes to Murphy's 206.
If he was re-elected, Morse said he would continue to work with town officials on being fiscally responsible in tough economic times.
“At one point, we were potentially in financial trouble due to the economy,” Morse said. “With our conservative approach, we were able to maintain all staff and services.”
