Selectmen honor couple who adopted four children

Selectmen welcomed the Vieira family to their Tuesday night meeting to honor parents Victor and Deanna for their recent adoption of four children.

The pair already adopted their daughter Nicole several years ago. They then fostered siblings, Jonathan and Jonalisa. While fostering the brother and sister, the pair discovered that Nicole had a brother and a sister, Brianna and David.

The kids came over for several play dates, and then Victor and Deanna found out that they were in need of a permanent home.

“We said OK,” said Victor. “We decided, you know what, let’s adopt all four of them.”

The couple is also fostering another child.

Selectman Jordan Collyer praised the couple.

“The board wanted to make sure you were recognized for something as unselfish as this,” he said. “This is just true humanity at its best. People should see that people like you do exist.”
