Several roads to get paved in Mattapoisett this summer
This summer a number of road improvements are coming.
“We’re making more inroads into our bad roads,” Highway Surveyor Barry Denham told Selectmen on Tuesday.
Denham said Eldorado Road, Shady Oak Road as well as Bayberry Lane and its side streets are scheduled to be paved this summer.
Denham also presented a possible plan to extend the life of North Street from the highway overpass to the Rochester line using microsurfacing, a cheaper option than resurfacing a road.
It would cost approximately $140,000 for the road improvement and last 10 years. Denham said the whole process would only take five days.
The town is also moving forward with a survey of Main Street, Water Street and Beacon Street to set a foundation for a future road reconstruction project.
