MATTAPOISETT — Mattapoisett Harbor in the cove east of Town Landing is closed to shellfishing through Dec. 31, according to the state Division of Marine Fisheries.

Any attempt to dig, harvest or collect shellfish from that area is prohibited, as is the possession of shellfish.
