Sippican Historical Society Speaker Series: The life and work of Fred Rogers

MARION -- Join the Sippican Historical Society and Maxwell King for a presentation called “The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers” on July 8 at 7 p.m.

King is the author of a New York Times Bestselling book of the same name, and is a former editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer

The presentation will focus on the qualities that made Rogers successful as an educator and a trusted exemplar of society’s best values.

King’s career has spanned more than five decades, and has journalism, leadership in philanthropic institutions, and service on civic boards and committees. He has published nearly two dozen poems in various literary periodicals and has had a small book of poetry, Crossing Laurel Run, published by Autumn House Press in Pittsburgh. He and his wife, Margaret Ann, live in Vermont and on Nantucket Island.
