Sippican Lands Trust hosts water, land, food events

Aug 5, 2019

MARION — The Sippican Lands Trust will work with two other community groups to host events in August and will hold a new beer and oysters event in September as well.

The Sippican Lands Trust will host another walkabout series with the Marion Council on Aging on Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.

The August walk will be titled "Cloud Watching."  Participants should meet at the property’s parking area a few moments before the walk begin. The event will offer a quiet walk in the woods, with a chance to bring binoculars to see if you can find some things in nature made by animals or humans.

Brainard Marsh is open to the public and is accessed through an opening in a stone wall along Delano Road, 1.5 miles down Delano Road from its intersection with Route 6. The path leads to the Weweantic River.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition and Sippican Land Trust will hold a morning kayak along the Weweantic and Sippican Rivers. On Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. The group will set off from the State Boat Ramp at the Rest Area on route 195 East in Wareham and paddle south along the Weweantic River to join with the Sippican River.

Participants must bring their own boat, or rent a kayak from Nemasket Kayak Center. Space is limited and registration is required. Please register here.

For questions, contact bayadventures@savebuzzardsbay.org or call 508.999.6363 Ext. 219. This program is weather-dependent. Please check your email the morning of the program for any notifications or changes.
