Sippican School students show off talent
The students of Sippican School are preparing to showcase their talent on Friday night.
The school’s talent show is at 6 p.m. on June 9, and will feature a variety of acts from performing a rap from the Broadway hit Hamilton, to playing piano, to a stand-up comedy routine.
Kennedy Zussy decided to do a tap dancing routine, but with a historical twist as she dresses as Amelia Earhart.
“It was one of my tap dance recital songs,” she said.
This is Zussy’s second talent show.
“I started it last year, and I liked doing it,” she said.
Lila Bangs is performing a song for the audience, but with a special surprise for a friend. Bangs said there is a girl in her class that only communicates using sign language.
“I thought it was really cool, so I got a sign language book,” she said. Bangs also helped teach herself sign language by watching the show “Switch at Birth,” which features a deaf character.
Bangs said she’s gotten to the point where she can do conversational sign language with her classmate, and she plans to dedicate the song to her at the talent show.
“Before I sing I’ll say that the song is for her,” Bangs said.
