MARION — The Sippican Woman’s Club will host author Catherine McLaughlin on Feb. 8 at Handy’s Tavern on Front St. for a discussion on her most recently published novel “Blue Collars.”

 

“Blue Collars” is about a large working-class New Bedford family growing up in the 1950s and 60s and the childhood trauma endured by Finn, the narrator of the story. 

 

McLaughlin will read excerpts from her book, speak about the writing process and how she keeps busy in her retirement.

 

Lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a brief business meeting before McLaughlin’s presentation. McLaughlin will then sign copies of her book.
