Sippican Woman’s Club to host Whaling Museum tour

MARION — On Friday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m., the Sippican Woman’s Club will meet at 152 Front Street for a business meeting and a tour of the New Bedford Whaling Museum. 

Members are requested to bring their own lunch, followed by a business meeting. The group will depart promptly at 12:30 p.m. via carpool for The New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford.

Parking is available at New Bedford’s Elm Street Garage, 51 Elm Street. Starting at 1 p.m. Jim Verni will lead the group on a tour of The Whaling Museum. Verni has served as a docent at the Whaling Museum for six years and looks forward to sharing tales of whaling adventures and guiding the group through the museum’s historic collections of New Bedford’s past.

The Sippican Woman’s Club meets once a month during the months of September through March on the second Friday of the month. On Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the club, along with participating homeowners, will hold its traditional Holiday House Tour.
