Sippican Woman’s Club shares program schedule for upcoming season
MARION — The Sippican Woman’s Club has invited Marion women — as well as all who enjoy getting involved in village activities — to join the organization’s next season.
The new season of “friendship, education and philanthropy” begins Friday, Sept. 13 with programs each month, according to a news release.
The program starts with “Rescuing, Sheltering and Caring for our Furry Friends.” Then, there will be an October trip to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
In November, the program will be “The Cranberry Industry in Depth” and in January, it will be “ Principles of Interior Design.”
February’s event will be “Who We Are,” at which club historian Jeanne Bruen “will give an overview of the club’s history starting with its inception in 1904,” the release said.
In March, Ward Parker will lead a “Paint and Sip” evening.
The club’s annual holiday house tour will be Saturday, Dec. 14.
“With all-hands-on-deck, members create a much-anticipated tour of elegant, unique and famous homes,” the release said.
The house tour is the club’s major fundraiser in providing scholarships to Marion students.
Other group activities include a game night, walking the village and a monthly book club. To learn more, visit sippicanwomansclub.org.
Those interested can also attend the club’s meetings, which are the second Friday of each month. They begin with a light lunch at 12:30 p.m. followed by a general meeting and program. Meetings are held at the clubhouse, also known as “The Tavern,” located at 152 Front St., P.O. 121.
