MARION — Sippican Woman’s Club members are decorating Handy’s Tavern for the Holiday House Tour on Dec. 14. The theme this year is “A Simple Holiday” in Marion. 

The Woman’s Club aims for cozy decor, with a traditional, decorated tree in gold and red. New this year is the “scholars tree,” with pictures of this year’s scholarships winners. Tickets will be exchanged for Tour Map and Program. The exchange will take place in the Tavern this year, and wassail will be served, before heading out to see other houses in Marion.

Tickets are $20 each in advance and $25 on the day of the tour. They can be bought at the Marion General Store, Serendipity in Marion, and Isabelle’s at the Ropewalk.

Participants can also purchase tickets online by going to www.sippicanwomansclub.org. Select Holiday House Tour Tickets, add the number of tickets to the cart and proceed to checkout. If the credit or debit card is in a different name than the purchaser, please provide the purchaser’s name in the “Order Notes” on the right side of the “Billing Detail” page.  At the end of the transaction, keep the receipt for payment verification.

Participants can also purchase tickets by sending a check payable to SWC – HHT , P.O. Box 121, Marion, MA 02738. Tickets will also be on sale in the Tavern at “the stroll” on Dec. 8. 

As the House Tour date approaches, more detailed information will be provided.  As in past years, the Marion Garden Club has their Holiday boutique, the Marion Art Center will be decorated with a special offering, the Elizabeth Taber Library will have something for children, the Congregational Church will hold their luncheon, and of course the group will have its traditional Tea at St. Gabriel’s.

And then there is a surprise venue — The Beverly Yacht Club will be open with a cash bar and complimentary coffee and tea
