The holiday season is over, but the snowy owl season has just begun. Snowy owl sightings are a yearly occurance in the Tri-Town, and Mattapoisett Resident Chris Porter was lucky enough to find one taking a rest on his shed, before it flew away.
According to the Mass Audubon Society website, snowy owls tend to migrate to places resembling the Tundra, where they are initially from. And as luck would have it, parts of the Tri-Town like the Kittansett Club in Marion are perfect for these largest North American owls.
