'Sophomoric hijinks' result in trip to hospital for student

A future as a stunt double might not be advisable for one student at Old Rochester Regional High School – at least not without some professional training.

What Principal Mike Devoll described as “sophomoric hijinks” resulted in an ambulance trip to the hospital for a student on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

At Thursday’s ORR School Committee meeting, Devoll said a student’s friend approached him in his car. The student jumped onto the hood of the vehicle, landing on the windshield, which collapsed.

“The buses were gone. Most of the students were gone,” Devoll said of the after school incident.

He said the student was treated at the hospital and released.
