Special primary election polls open Tuesday
Area polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. in Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester this Tuesday when voters choose their party’s nominees for the U.S. Senate.
In Marion, voting takes place at the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post on Mill Street.
Mattapoisett residents will cast their ballots at Old Hammondtown School, at the end of Shaw Street off of Route 6.
The Rochester polls are located at the town’s Council of Aging at 67 Dexter Lane.
The special state primary features a race between U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, of Boston, and U.S. Rep. Edward J. Markey, of Malden for the Democratic nomination.
The Republican field has three candidates vying for the nomination. They are: Gabriel Gomez, of Cohasset, who is a former Naval Special Warfare Lieutenant Commander; Michael J. Sullivan, of Abington, a former U.S. attorney; and State Rep. Daniel B. Winslow, of Norfolk.
