MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will welcome author and sports columnist Dan Shaughnessy to speak on Nov. 24.

Beginning at 4 p.m., Shaughnessy will speak on “the State of Boston Pro Sports Teams” at the library. 

Shaughnessy is the author of 12 books, including the New York Times bestsellers "Francona" and "The Curse of the Bambino." 

He has been named Massachusetts Sportswriter of the Year eleven times, among many other awards.
