Student of the Month chosen for welcoming others
The Elks of Wareham and the New Bedford Lodge No. 1548 have selected Senior Sophia Sudofsky of Marion as Student of the Month for December with input from the Old Rochester Regional High School faculty and staff.
Teachers say that Sudofsky is a gentle force behind many of the activities of the AFS Club. She is a person of her word, and is happy to share her talents with anybody that asks. She has the ability to make all she meets feel welcome. She is an advocate for the underclassmen and an excellent role model of good citizenship.
They add that Sudofsky has been instrumental in making foreign exchange students’ lives easier as they adjust to the school. This senior is an excellent representation of a well-rounded student.
The Elks sponsor the Elks Student of the Month and Student of the Year Awards for students enrolled in local area high schools. The criteria used in nominating a student includes a student who excels in scholarship, citizenship, performing arts, fine arts, hobbies, athletics, church, school and community service, industry and farming.
