There was singing, there was dancing, and there was a whole lot of, as Principal Mike Devoll put it, aggressive pep.

The students of Old Rochester Regional High School gathered in the gym on Friday afternoon for a pep rally before ORR’s homecoming football game.

Each class performed a skit, based on an animated movie, about how the football team would beat opponent Apponequet.

The freshmen took their inspiration from “Finding Dory.” The skit told the story of how Dory was swept away by the “Apponocurrent.” Eventually, the ORR football team came to the rescue and saved Dory.

The sophomores used “Toy Story” as the basis of their skit, as mean neighbor Sid stole Andy’s new favorite toy — a bulldog. A dance battle ensued and Andy’s toys used it as a distraction to bring the bulldog back to Andy’s room, where the toys promptly dropped to the floor when Andy returned.

Scooby Doo and his gang inspired the junior class, which went town to town in the Mystery Machine looking for the bulldog. Neither Wareham nor Fairhaven had the bulldog, but the group found it with Apponequet. The group then unmasked the monster to find Devoll.

The seniors concluded the skits with an elaborate reenactment of “Mulan.” After the Apponequet Huns invaded Old Rochester and the dog pound, Mulan and the rest of the soldiers fight back.

The rally concluded what Devoll called “the best two weeks of spirit week ever.”
