To the editor:

I am supporting Eileen Marum for the Marion Planning Board for the following reasons. She shows initiative and is an active and contributing member of our community. As a member of the Energy Management Committee, Eileen worked effectively and efficiently with the Planning Board to formulate our solar bylaws that were approved at Town Meeting last year. On her own initiative, Eileen attended the 2014 Citizen Planner Training Collaborative program at the College of the Holy Cross so that she could better understand the roles and responsibilities of a Planning Board member.

As a member of Marion’s Medical Reserve Corps, she volunteered at the Sippican School Emergency Shelter during Blizzard Nemo. During the emergency she sacrificed her time, energy and services without expecting anything in return and to me, that speaks volumes of her integrity and values. In my opinion, the above qualities make Eileen an excellent candidate for the Marion planning Board.
