Saturday, Jan 25
Play a fantasy game.

The Dungeons and Dragons group will meet again at the library to continue their quest on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. New players are always welcome. The activity is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Celebrate Beethoven.

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra plans to celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday year with a performance of his Second Symphony for a piano trio. Musicians include Jesse Holstein on  violin, EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks on violin an Anna Griffis, viola, Leo Eguchi on cello and Janice Weber on piano. Tickets are $20 at the door or online.

Monday, Jan. 27
Watch a movie on noise.

Anchor Yoga will host a showing of the award-winning documentary “In Pursuit of Silence” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A moderated discussion will follow the show. A small donation is requested. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Project Wheel House, a local non-profit that provides yoga and mindfulness programming to underserved communities in New Bedford.

The film includes clips from a traditional tea ceremony in Kyoto, to the streets of Mumbai, the loudest city on the planet.

Wednesday, Jan. 29
Learn about rocks

The Marion Natural History Museum will host geologist Jim Pierson once again from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pierson will talk about rocks, minerals and fossils, share from his collection and examine the museum’s collection. The talk will cost $6 for museum members or $8 for non-members. Visit www.marionmuseum.org to fill out the registration for Rock Hound.
