From a scout meetup to a fall fair, there are lots of things to do in the Tri-Town this week. 

Friday, Sept. 10
Little Free Diverse Library unveiling
Tri-Town Against Racism is holding an unveiling for its newest Little Free Diverse Library at Ned’s Point at 5 p.m.

The library will hold books featuring characters and viewpoints from members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, as well as those who are biracial, Indiginous, and people of color.

The event will feature refreshments and a book giveaway.

Art Center opening reception
Visit the Marion Art Center at 5 p.m. for the opening of an exhibit featuring pastels, watercolors, and oils by Marion residents Sarah Brown and Judy Carver.

Refreshments will be served and masks are required.

Learn about St. Gabriel’s
The Sippican Historical Society Speaker Series continues at 7 p.m. with a presentation by Parish Historian and SHS board member Judith Rosbe, entitled “St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church Celebrates 150 Years.”

This month's presentation will be held in the Parish Hall of St. Gabriel's Church (at the corner of Front and South Streets in Marion). Masks will be required for this in-person presentation.

Saturday, Sept. 11
Fall fair
Celebrate fall at the Rochester Senior Center’s Fall Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, crochet thread material, ribbon, sewing notions, embroidery thread buttons, beads, craft books, kids' craft kits and many more craft supplies. There will also be treasures from attics, closets and spare rooms.

The fair is cash only, and no pets are allowed.

Meet the Scouts
Girls and boys in kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to join Marion Cub Scouts Pack 32.

Come meet the scouts for a moment of reflection followed by field games and some gaga ball from 10 a.m. to noon at Silvershell Beach.

Pack 32 will be meeting at the flagpole and remaining in the field area for some fun activities.
