Celebrate Arbor Day
The Mattapoisett Tree Committee will sponsor a celebration of Arbor Day at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29 at Town Hall, 16 Main St. Committee members and town officials will raise the Arbor Day flag.Following the flag raising, the Tree Committee and Highway Department will plant a tribute tree at the police station to recognize first responders.
Saturday, April 30
Honoring first responders
The Mattapoisett Tree Committee and Highway Department will unveil a plaque at a tribute tree at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Mattapoisett Police Station, 64 County Road, to recognize first responders.
Birding walk
Buzzards Bay Coalition will sponsor a birding walk led by Nasketucket Bird Club leader Justin Barrett from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Tinkhamtown Woodlands, 29 Long Plain Road, Mattapoisett. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, bring binoculars if you have them.
Pop-up shop
A spring pop-up shop will be available from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 on the lawn of the Mattapoisett Museum, 5 Church St., Mattapoisett. New and returning vendors will sell their wares and a raffle will be available with donations from area businesses. The rain date is May 1. For more information, contact info@mattapoisettmuseum.org

Songs of the Highwaymen
Mattapoisett Public Library, 7 Barstow St., presents singer/songwriter Matt York with “Songs & Stories of The Highwaymen’’at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3. He will perform the songs of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings.
Wednesday, May 4
Watch a weaver
Weaver Lisa Elliott will demonstrate her craft at the Mattapoisett Public Library, 7 Barstow St. from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4. Drop in and watch her use a portable loom to create colorful textiles.
