Saturday, April 16 

Grab some Easter eggs 

The Sippican Historical Society will host an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday April 16 in the memorial garden behind the building at 141 Front St., Marion.  Open to children up to age 12. Bring a basket or container for collecting eggs. 

A basket of fun 

The Rochester Lions Club will sponsor a Bingo Easter egg hunt and visit with the Easter bunny from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at Arch at the Meadow, 332 Mendell Road, Rochester.

Bring your own basket. Breakfast sandwiches and drinks will be available for purchase. Junior Friends of Plumb Library will lead children in crafts. 

Tuesday, April 19

Cook up a discussion 

The Cookbook Club meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at the Mattapoisett Library, 7 Barstow St. to discuss “Lidia's a Pot, a Pan, and a Bowl: Simple Recipes for Perfect Meals: A Cookbook’’ by Lidia Bastianich. Copies of the cookbook are available for check out at the library. The group meets in-person and a virtual option is available.

Hike with birds 

Sippican Lands Trust will host a bird walk with Nasketucket Bird Club at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Osprey Marsh Boardwalk. For more information, visit sippicanlandstrust.org.

Wednesday, April 20

Share your history 

The Rochester Historical Society museum, 355 County Road, Rochester, is planning an evening of pictures and scrapbooks at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. 

Bring pictures of babies, ancestors, and places that have changed or disappeared over the years. Those attending will then try to match the photos with the people who brought them

Monet happy returns 

Artist Charles Stockbridge returns for a second demonstration of “How to Paint a Monet” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 at the Mattapoisett Library, 7 Barstow St. This demonstration is available at the library with limited space and via Zoom. Registration is required for participating, whether in person or virtually. Call the library at (508) 758-4171.

Bugging out 

Sippican Lands Trust will host an insect walk with entomologist Blake Dinius at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at White Eagle property. For more information, visit sippicanlandstrust.org.

Thursday, April 21 

Mandala making 

An adult and teen nature mandala workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Elizabeth Taber Library, 8 Spring St. Artist Beth Adoette will help participants create and photograph nature mandalas to explore the elements that represent spring. Call the library at (508) 748-1252 to sign up for this art workshop.

Commune with plants and trees 

Take a plant and tree walk with the Sippican Lands Trust at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Peirson Woods. For more information, visit sippicanlandstrust.org.
